According to sources who spoke with Kenyan whispers under the condition of anonymity, Rubadiri has been serving her notice and will host her final show over the weekend.
Following her departure from Citizen TV, Rubadiri is set to join CNN as Africa’s correspondent.

RMS staff honored her time at the station by cutting a cake in her presence during the past week.
Rubadiri hosted several shows during her tenure at Citizen TV, including Citizen Weekend on Saturdays, where she highlighted a variety of issues touching on social norms and culture. She also co-hosted Sunday Live with acclaimed journalist Jeff Koinange.
Since the beginning of the year, several senior journalists have left RMS and Citizen TV, including former crime and investigative journalist Hassan Mugambi and TV reporter Chemutai Goin. Rubadiri is known for her compelling storytelling abilities, making her one of the most sought-after journalists in the field.
In 2020, she won the prestigious BBC World News Komla Dumor Award, which allowed her to attend a training course with the BBC Academy and work with the news team for three months.
Notably, Rubadiri’s features such as ‘Wombs of Sorrow’ showcased her commitment to highlighting important issues, including the experiences of women suffering from cervical cancer.
Prior to her work at Citizen TV, Rubadiri rose through the ranks at Nation Media Group (NMG), where she hosted the NTV Weekend Edition alongside CNN’s Larry Madowo. She graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast journalism.
Beyond her media career, Rubadiri has moderated high-level discussions on regional and continental matters.
