Presiding Judge of the Siaya High Court, Justice Daniel Ogembo Ogola, was found dead in his Siaya town residence on Wednesday. His body was discovered by his driver, who had arrived in the morning to take him to work.

Justice Ogembo had worked until the end of the previous day before being dropped off at his home by his driver. 

When the driver arrived to pick him up, he found the door locked and calls to Justice Ogembo unanswered. Concerned, the driver checked on him, only to find the door still locked from the inside.

The driver alerted other Judiciary staff, who, along with security personnel, broke down the door and found Justice Ogembo lying lifeless on his bed. 

Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo confirmed the death and stated that the body has been moved to a funeral home in Kisumu for preservation and autopsy.

Justice Ogembo had served as the Presiding Judge of the Siaya High Court for nearly two years, having succeeded Lady Justice Roseline Aburili.
