Busia Senator and activist Okiya Omtatah has taken a bold step toward a potential 2027 presidential bid by forming a 10-member exploratory committee.

The team, led by Mary Kathomi and comprising political strategists, activists, and legal experts, will conduct nationwide opinion polls to evaluate Omtatah’s popularity, assess his presidential prospects, and devise strategies to navigate the competitive political arena.

Omtatah, determined to challenge President William Ruto, accuses the Kenya Kwanza administration of failing the nation and has called on Kenyans to rally behind his vision.

“My focus is not going to be diminished. I know there is a fight to dislodge President William Ruto, and I am ready,” he affirmed.

The committee’s patron, Julius Okara, echoed confidence in Omtatah’s leadership potential, emphasizing the importance of nationwide consultations.

“We’re confident Omtatah is the right person for the job, but we want to hear from Kenyans across every constituency,” Okara stated.

Gen-Z activist and Public Relations Strategist Hanifa Farsafi, a committee member, voiced her support for Omtatah, aligning his values with those of the younger generation.

“What Omtatah stands for is exactly what we stand for. His values resonate with us, and we believe in his principles,” she said.

Omtatah remains optimistic that Kenyans will financially back his campaign, emphasizing their goodwill and commitment to change.

“People keep talking about money, but Kenyans have already shown their support. We will get the help we need as we move forward,” he assured.

A first-time senator and a veteran activist, Omtatah continues to position himself as a vocal critic of the current administration and a viable alternative for the presidency in 2027.
