President William Ruto announced on Friday, July 5, that he is prepared to fire Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi if he is found guilty in the fake fertilizer scandal.
During an engagement on X Spaces, Ruto reiterated his zero-tolerance stance on corruption within his administration.
“If there is sufficient evidence to find the agriculture minister guilty, I will fire him,” Ruto assured Kenyans.
He added that active court cases are already in progress for officials from the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) implicated in the scandal.
“The CEO and several NCPB staff are in court to answer for their involvement in the fertilizer scandal,” he stated.
The President clarified that while CS Linturi has been accused by some Kenyans of involvement in the scandal, he has not been taken to court.
