Professor Kithure Kindiki has officially taken office as Kenya’s third Deputy President under the 2010 Constitution.

Following the Assumption of Office Act, he swore two oaths—the oath of allegiance and the oath of due execution of office—in a ceremony led by Chief Justice Martha Koome at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre.

After taking the oaths around 11 a.m., Prof. Kindiki signed the documents at a ceremonial table, pledging to perform his duties in line with the law.

Chief Justice Koome countersigned the oaths, which were then sealed and handed to the Attorney General for safekeeping.
